Goodwoof 2026 is set to return to the Goodwood Estate on 16 and 17 May 2026 for another celebration of dogs that has become a fixture in the UK calendar. This is the event where hundreds of dogs and their humans descend on the stunning grounds of The Kennels near Chichester for a weekend of competitions, activities, shopping and pure canine joy.
With early bird tickets currently from just £32 per adult, children under 12 going free, and dogs entering at no charge, it is shaping up to be one of the best-value dog-friendly days out in West Sussex. And every single activity is included in the price of your ticket.
Here is everything we know so far.
What Is Goodwoof?
Goodwoof is Goodwood's annual dog festival, held at The Kennels on the 12,000-acre Goodwood Estate. The Kennels itself has proper canine pedigree: it was built in 1787 by celebrated architect James Wyatt to house the third Duke of Richmond's prized foxhounds. It was once described as one of the most luxurious dog houses in the world, and Goodwoof carries on that tradition of putting dogs first.
The event brings together world-class canine competitions, expert talks, have-a-go activities, wellness workshops, live music, a literary corner, premium shopping and some seriously good food. Think of it as a festival with a wagging tail.

What to Expect at Goodwoof 2026
The Rescue Dog Parade
The headline change announced for 2026 is the theme of the opening parade. Each morning, the Duke of Richmond leads hundreds of dogs and their owners on a walk from Goodwood House down to The Kennels to officially open the event. This year, rescue dogs are set to take centre stage. If you have a rescue dog, you can register to join the parade (admission ticket purchased separately).
It is a genuinely moving sight and a wonderful way to celebrate the dogs who got a second chance.
Have-a-Go Activities
The Have-a-Go area is one of the most popular parts of Goodwoof, and for good reason. It is completely free (included in your admission), there is no need to pre-book, and experts are on hand to teach your dog new tricks in activities such as:
- Agility courses for all abilities
- Treibball (yes, your dog can herd giant balls)
- Flyball and other canine sports
- Field and trail demonstrations
The 2026 event is promising even more activities than previous years. Whether your dog is a seasoned athlete or a couch potato having their first go, there should be something for every four-legged visitor.
Canine Competitions and Displays
Goodwoof hosts world-class competitions featuring top canine athletes. Expect high-energy displays, nail-biting finals and plenty of audience participation. The standard of competition is seriously impressive, with events including DHL Fastest Dog sprints and CaniCross races.
Barkitecture
One of Goodwoof's most creative features, Barkitecture is the annual architectural exhibition and competition of cutting-edge kennel design. Spearheaded by Kevin McCloud MBE (yes, the Grand Designs presenter) and the Duke of Richmond, it features world-renowned architects and designers creating show-stopping dog kennels. Think Grand Designs, but for dogs.
Canine Wellbeing
There are talks and workshops from leading behavioural and veterinary experts covering everything from nutrition and anxiety to training techniques. If you have ever wanted professional advice on your dog's health or behaviour, this is the place to get it, and it is all included in your ticket.
Jellycat at Goodwoof
Jellycat fans, this is your moment. The beloved soft toy brand is returning to Goodwoof in 2026, and they have announced two brand-new exclusive arrivals that will only be available at the event. At Goodwoof 2025 (held in May 2025), Jellycat created the one-of-a-kind Jellycat Dog Hotel experience, which became a must-visit destination. That year's guest of honour was Otto Sausage Dog, with actor Hugh Bonneville reading Otto the Loyal Long Dog at the Literary Corner.
Expect queues, expect excitement, and expect to come home with at least one new Jellycat friend.
Literary Corner
The Literary Corner brings together authors, celebrities and dog lovers for readings and talks. Hugh Bonneville's appearance at Goodwoof 2025 was a highlight, and the 2026 line-up is expected to be equally star-studded.
Shopping and Food
Goodwoof is a brilliant place to shop for your dog (and yourself). There is a curated selection of dog-related retailers, artisan brands and the official Goodwoof merchandise collection. On the food side, there are plenty of options across the site, or you can upgrade to a Fortnum & Mason Picnic (from £125, comes with a cool bag) or the Fortnum & Mason Feast (from £195, served in an iconic hamper).
There is also live music throughout the day, because what is a festival without a soundtrack?

Top Tips for Goodwoof 2026
- Book early bird tickets now. Save over 20% and guarantee your spot. Early bird pricing will not last forever.
- Bring water and a bowl. There are water stations around the site, but having your own means no queuing.
- Pack sun protection. May in West Sussex can be gloriously sunny. A collapsible shade or parasol is worth its weight in gold for your dog.
- Keep dogs on leads. All dogs must be on leads at all times throughout the event.
- Arrive early for Jellycat. The exclusive launches will draw crowds. If Jellycat is on your must-do list, head there first.
- Register for the rescue dog parade in advance. Spaces fill up, so do not leave it to the day.
- Wear comfortable shoes. The site is spread across the estate grounds, and the car park is on grass.
Is Goodwoof Worth It?
In a word: yes. For £32 per adult (early bird), with free entry for children and dogs, and every activity included, Goodwoof is outstanding value. You could easily spend the full day exploring, trying activities, watching competitions and shopping. Add in the stunning Goodwood Estate setting and the sheer number of happy dogs, and it is hard to think of a better day out for dog lovers in the south of England.
