What to Pack for an Indoor Day Out
You would think an indoor day needs no preparation. You would be wrong.
- Socks. Most soft play and trampoline venues require them, and at least one child will have forgotten theirs. Grip socks are usually available to buy (£2 to £3) but bringing your own saves the hassle.
- A change of clothes. Soft play plus small children plus juice boxes is a reliable recipe for at least one outfit change.
- Snacks. Some venues do not allow outside food (Out of Bounds, for example) but many smaller soft play centres do. Check before you go.
- Cash or card? Most venues are card-only now. Out of Bounds is specifically card-only. Check before assuming cash will work.
When to Go
School holidays and weekends are predictably busy at every venue. For the quietest sessions:
- Weekday mornings, term time are the golden hours. Venues like Mini Mayhem and Happyscamps run specific toddler sessions.
- Avoid the 10am to 12pm weekend slot at popular venues like Flip Out and Out of Bounds. Either go early or after lunch.
- Book online where possible. Flip Out, Clip 'n Climb and Out of Bounds all offer online booking, and popular sessions sell out.
All information was correct at the time of writing (February 2026). Prices, opening hours and facilities can change. We recommend checking directly with each venue before visiting. Some venues had website issues during our research and are marked accordingly.
